Privacy Policy — Watchly IPTV

This policy describes how OrbitX Studio handles information when you use Watchly IPTV. It is separate from the Privacy Policy for the Watchly media player.

Introduction

OrbitX Studio ("OrbitX," "we," "us," or "our") operates Watchly IPTV — an IPTV client for Apple platforms that plays streams from playlists and plugins you add (collectively, the "Service").

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. It applies when you use Watchly IPTV apps. It does not replace the Privacy Policy for the separate Watchly media player product.

By using Watchly IPTV, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Summary

  • Watchly IPTV does not host your live or on-demand streams on OrbitX servers.
  • You add your own playlists (M3U/Xtream) and plugins; those sources stay under your control.
  • Most library data (channels, favorites, hide lists, continue watching) is stored on your device.
  • When poster and title metadata is fetched (including Watchly PRO library matching), title names may be sent to OrbitX so we can return artwork and details. Playlists, passwords, and video files are not uploaded.
  • Apple processes Watchly PRO subscriptions. iCloud Sync, if you turn it on, uses your Apple iCloud account.
  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • Support emails you send to us are retained as needed to help you.

Information We Collect

On-device library and preferences

  • Playlist metadata and channel/VOD catalogs you import or refresh.
  • Favorites, last played, hidden categories/channels, and similar curation choices.
  • Continue Watching / resume positions for on-demand titles when that feature is enabled.
  • App settings such as playback preferences and live display options.

Poster and title metadata

  • To show posters, synopses, and similar details, the app may send title names, release year, media type (movie or series), and a catalog identifier if one is already known.
  • If you use Edit Metadata, the search text you type is sent the same way so we can return matching titles.
  • Watchly PRO can also match titles in your library in the background.
  • These requests go to OrbitX servers. We use the information only to look up and return metadata — not to advertise to you or to sell a profile of you.
  • We do not send playlist URLs, Xtream usernames or passwords, stream URLs, or video files to OrbitX for this feature.
  • A random install identifier is included so we can rate-limit abuse. It is not your Apple ID, name, or email. On our servers it is stored as a hash. We do not use it to track you across other companies’ apps.

Apple purchases and iCloud

  • Watchly PRO is an auto-renewable subscription sold through Apple. Apple processes payment. We do not receive your card number or Apple ID password.
  • If you enable iCloud Sync (Watchly PRO), playlists and related preferences sync through your Apple iCloud account. OrbitX cannot read the contents of your iCloud.

Plugins and stream resolution

  • When you install a plugin, the app may contact that plugin’s servers (and any upstream services it uses) to load catalogs, metadata, and stream URLs.
  • Those third-party services have their own privacy practices. OrbitX does not control plugin operators.

Device and technical data

  • Device type, operating system, and app version (for example when you contact support or when diagnostics are required to fix crashes).
  • Cached images (logos and posters) stored locally to improve performance; you can clear this cache in Settings.

Communications

  • Messages you send to our support, bug report, or feature request email addresses, including any device information you include.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not upload your playlist files or stream media to OrbitX for hosting or redistribution.

We do not collect precise location, contacts, calendars, or health data.

We do not use third-party advertising networks, and we do not sell personal information to data brokers.

We do not require a Watchly account. There is no OrbitX login for Watchly IPTV.

How We Use Your Information

  • Provide playback, browsing, EPG, favorites, and related IPTV features on your devices.
  • Look up posters and title details when metadata enrichment runs, and rate-limit those requests.
  • Respond to support requests and improve reliability.
  • Comply with law and protect the security of our users and OrbitX.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

To return posters and details, our servers query publicly available movie and TV information services. Title text is processed for that lookup only.

Apple processes in-app purchases and, if you enable it, iCloud Sync. Apple’s privacy policy applies to those services.

We may share information with service providers who help us operate email support or infrastructure, only as needed to provide that service.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety.

When you use a third-party playlist host or plugin, that provider processes requests under its own policies.

Data Retention

On-device data remains until you remove it (for example by deleting a playlist, clearing continue watching, clearing image cache, or deleting the app).

Metadata lookup requests are processed to return artwork and details. We do not keep your playlists on OrbitX servers.

Hashed install identifiers used for rate limiting are kept only as needed to protect the service.

Support correspondence is retained as needed to resolve your request and improve support quality.

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards for our websites and support systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

You are responsible for protecting devices where playlists and credentials are stored, and for using HTTPS sources where available.

Your Rights and Choices

To exercise privacy rights or ask questions, contact support.watchly@orbitx.studio.

You can clear image cache and continue watching data in Settings, and remove playlists or plugins at any time.

You can use Watchly IPTV without Watchly PRO. Turning off or not purchasing PRO stops background library matching. Opening a title’s details may still request posters for that title.

Deleting the app removes the on-device install identifier from that device.

Children's Privacy

Watchly IPTV is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Third-Party Sources and Plugins

Watchly IPTV connects to playlists, EPG feeds, and plugins you choose. Those services are not operated by OrbitX. Review their terms and privacy policies before use.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date on https://watchly.orbitx.studio/iptv/privacy.

Continued use of Watchly IPTV after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy.
